I admit that this comparison looks a bit confusing but the devil is in
the details! (click More Details) Here are some of the extra features
of the more expensive models:

1. Core 2 Duo vs Dual core processor (Core 2 is better)
2. Windows (I didn't say all features are positive!)
3. 160 GB hard disk vs 120 GB
4. 1 GB vs 512 MB
4. 2.83 Kg vs 2.91 Kg (loss of wt of DVD drive!)
5. Carry-in exchange warranty

I would suspect that it is (1) and (6) which add most significantly
to the cost. The loss of DVD drive would reduce the price but not by
much and the addition of Windows would more that cover that by a
corresponding increase.
