Assuming he has the time and inclination :-) I am not very good at history --- even when the history is of mathematics. So I cannot judge the value of remarks about who invented calculus. There is no doubt that every "great" scientist has stood on the shoulders of others. The one big flaw in most Indian schools has been the inability to criticise and be skeptical about one's teachers. The one big flaw in most Western schools has been their obsession with obtaining priority. I would rather combine the best of both schools rather than the worst! So one should go beyond what one's teachers (real or virtual) taught us but give credit to their teachings for one's ideas.
