Hi all, Iam trying to use BOSS in my laptop (Model: Compaq Presario 2500) right from its version 1.0 to the latest BOSS 3.0 but no single attempt was successfull.
The problems i have faced so far are: 1) I get disk error when tried to boot from the install CD (probably due to some error when the disk media is prepared at CDAC). Note: Iam getting each version from CDAC Chennai. 2) When I tried the Live CD, the boot process goes till the "squashfs" step & then hangs itself thereafter. To be honest I have not got a single chance to successfully use BOSS till now. Iam much worried how a layman can do it. One happy news is Iam already running Red Hat 9.0 in my above said laptop. Can anyone help me find what the actual problem is. My pointers are: 1) hardware compatibility specific to my laptop. 2) whether BOSS is adequately tested at the factory before it comes to the hands of a layman consumer.
