I have never experienced this. Nowadays LCD monitors are catching on
like wild fire and the setup is far less painful.

You have an 'auto' button on the monitor which adjusts everything for
you automatically.

Moreover the extra upfront cost spent on the purchase is quickly made up
over time in power savings.

Hence the TCO of an LCD monitor is far lesser than a CRT.

That is the reason I sold off my bulky CRT monitors including Sony few
months ago.
