You need to enable SNMP on your router, and ask MRTG to
poll the necessary interface.

A Google search for "snmp mrtg" provides plenty of useful
documentation on the first page itself.  I suggest you try
it out and get back if you hit any specific issues.


If you find manual SNMP/MRTG configuration difficult, I
suggest you try Cacti (cactiusers.org).  It's a point and
click way to add and monitor devices in your network.
