I have a dual boot PC (Windows XP/Kubuntu 8.04) at home. Unfortunately,
it stopped powering up last week. I got a service technician to look at
it and he said that a motherboard part has failed, but the replacement
is not readily available. I am trying to find out the specs for the
replacement part to see if I can locate it.
Meanwhile, if I am unable to find the part, I will need to get a
replacement motherboard. The failed motherboard is a compact form
factor (Shuttle box motherboard) with an nVidia nForce chipset that
accepts an AMD Sempron class processor.
I have the memory, CPU, hard disk, power supply, and DVD-RW, from my
current machine that I can reuse. I will need a new case and
motherboard. The motherboard should support an AMD CPU and have built
in audio and graphics.
Can you suggest a reputable PC assembler in Chennai that you've worked
with who will use the parts that I already have, purchase the remaining
parts, and put everything together?
