Job Description :
The Job role requires analyzing customer problem escalations at source
level & working with product engineering to deliver timely patches /
fixes. Working with other vendors & partner engineering where required
(for issues involving products from multiple vendors).
Strong C language expertise on linux and excellent problem debugging
skills at source level and ability for analysis of core dumps using
tools like gdb, crash etc is a must for this position.
Candidate should have at least 2 years of software maintenance and/or
software development experience on linux platform. Strong knowledge of
OS Internals, Linux Network Stack, Linux Kernel Knowledge and experience
with Device Drivers required.
The candidate is also expected to be familiar with at least the Basic
linux tool chain (like gcc, ld, make etc) and also familiar with
building RPM (writing .spec files).
Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl, and / or Object Oriented
languages like C++, Python would be an added advantage.
Preference would also be given to candidates with good System
Administration experience, specially in areas of enterprise storage
solutions like SAN / NAS & Clustering.
