Prevention is better than cure. Far better! With so many online backup companies offering free/cheap storage, there's really no reason not to backup your files remotely and entirely avoid such peril. To protect privacy, many backup systems can encrypt your data even before it leaves your computer. I use mozy on Windows and Areca (areca.sf.net) on linux. Mozy gives me +2GB of free space, and my web hosting provider gives me 50GB online space exclusively for off-site up data backup. - Raja _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [email protected] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
