Let me add some "explanation" (or is it a disclaimer?) many of us do get queries from students / staff expressing interest to work in open source. quite often, they just seek some topics to work on and some times they get hold of topics (as Roshan mentioned) with cool keywords. since my interactions are mostly with novices, I tend to do some checkup, get some preliminary info and then ask the requestor to do more search / study to get some concrete idea. then we could guide them re things to learn, etc. More often than not, we may have to shift them away from the original idea. this time, i posted in the group -- since i am also trying to ask and answer questions : what purpose and what is being attempted? If there is some quick positive response, we can get them going. otherwise, we can guide them differently. thanks for all you time, srinivasan. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [email protected] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
