As such many processes in corporate matters like digital signatures etc are

I only hope this does not happen with a project of national importance like
this.
I've been thinking of this ever since the news came out. Is there a
formal group of open source people to raise this issue and give it
enough exposure in the press? If I'm not wrong, Venkatesh Hariharan is
raising this issue with Ministry of IT on behalf of RedHat. Anyone else?
Any LUG activity across India to lobby against use of proprietary
software in a project of such national importance?
Vamsee.
