Exactly.

And you should know a lot about Makefiles too. That is key.

Please learn soon. The GNU info manual is very very long. It is comprehensive
but very boring.

The OpenBSD manpage is also comprehensive but short. But then BSD make
is quite different from GNU make.

And things get complicated a bit more.

But makefiles are a powerful concept and you have to know. Even if you do
Windows programming with Cygwin or MingW.
