Sadly, even if you buy any of these XP netbooks and install Linux
yourself , you would have already paid the Microsoft tax.
You are left with no choice but to do it yourself. This site gives
status of various lInux distros in various laptops /netbooks.

There are very few choices for models with Linux supported by
manufacturers. Netbooks gave good exposure to Linux and they have
value and purpose considering the low cost , small size and
portability. But manufacturers prefer XP . In fact Asus ,the first one
to start this netbook trend buckled to pressure and in fact even
started the " It is better with windows campaign now"
http://www.itsbetterwithwindows.com/ for eee pcs.

Let us hope things change with ARM , MIPS and Snapdragon based
netbooks which work with Linux , android etc.

Cheers
