Because it's so full of holes that you need to "upgrade" it every other week? Which is what annoys me about web apps written in php - whether php encourages bad code or what I don't know, but almost all popular open source php software is full of spaghetti code. I say this as somebody who wrote a plugin for wordpress and integrated another php app (elgg.net) into another system. I can't even say how bad my experience of elgg integration was. Pure horror would cover it.
