You need to look at this slide: http://quigon.bsws.de/papers/2009/eurobsdcon-faster_packets/mgp00010.html By the way I implemented IPsec on the Nucleus OS for Midas Communications in 2003. My first LUG talk also was on that. But it was a long time ago. mbufs are really great. Linux skbuffs are adapted from that I think. I couldn't get everything working on the Banyan router since it was resource constrained. Today's technology should allow full mbuf implementation. My recent project for a Silicon Valley based company was on uClinux running on a webcam like camera. It is only as big as the hand of an average man. My development experience was really pleasant. I guess today's embedded systems allow you to run full UNIX. In fact the camera supported both telnet and ftp. The cross compiler also was really easy to work with. Everything was cool. -Girish -- Gayatri Hitech web: http://gayatri-hitech.com SpamCheetah Spam filter: http://spam-cheetah.com _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, email [email protected] with "unsubscribe <password> <address>" in the subject or body of the message. http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
