I'll probably have to follow the advice you and Mehul have given me and
go with Turbo C++ and Dosbox. It isn't ideal, though. I'm certain that
to stare at red strings on a blue background will instil in my brother a
deep hatred of 'computer science'.

My younger brother listens to me in these situations only because then
he doesn't have to do the work ;)
