hi, AFAIK most access points are just plug and play ..they do support bridging they are very much transparent to the LAN on the other side.just con http://happyrouter.com/how-to-configure-a-cisco-wireless-access-point-ap-from-scratch
There is nothing really hard in trying few configurations.Pls go and ahead have some fun.Go for Cisco AP's they are really user friendly,my opinion. @Mohan Even in Mesh the ultimate termination will be your WAN so there is no performance improvement if you are switching for mesh.Mesh are mainly deployed for reliability of links. Here we have only big auditorium so APs will serve the purpose i guess. Most commercially available access points do not support bridging mode between the WAN ethernet port and the wireless subsystem. Bridging will work across wireless and the LAN ethernet ports only. Load distribution is difficult (may not matter though given thin WAN bandwidth). Availability and support might skew your decision to this solution, nevertheless. To avoid these, I'd suggest a wifi mesh. Look up www.meraki.com. Last I knew, they were sold at $50 apiece. Do not have much idea about local availability of similar systems. -- Mohan Sundaram _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc The INTERNET now has a personality.
