Bharathi, When the device is being shown as disconnected, do a dmesg|tail and check if its showing a disconnection there. It should be H/W problem and need not be a generic one for their product. Perhaps just a faulty device. AFAIK the change in /dev entry usually occur only if there is a physical disconnection and there is no rule defined for the device in udev rules.
It _may_ not be a minicom issue. Check dmesg first.
