@nellingiri: that was the first thing what i did, I think i have stated in
previous mail

@all: I was able to remove the package after editing file in /etc/info as
suggested above.

after that I installed both the packages suggested in the link and then
installed "wvdial" too. now when I give command wvdial cdma i get erros
like:

*chan...@chandan-laptop:~$ wvdial cdma
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: Device or resource busy
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: Device or resource busy
--> Cannot open /dev/ttyUSB0: Device or resource busy
chan...@chandan-laptop:~$ wvdial cdma
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Cannot get information for serial port.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATDT#777
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDT#777
CONNECT
--> Carrier detected. Starting PPP immediately.
--> Starting pppd at Sat Jun 19 02:22:42 2010
--> Warning: Could not modify /etc/ppp/pap-secrets: Permission denied
--> --> PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) may be flaky.
--> Warning: Could not modify /etc/ppp/chap-secrets: Permission denied
--> --> CHAP (Challenge Handshake) may be flaky.
--> Pid of pppd: 1713
--> Disconnecting at Sat Jun 19 02:22:42 2010
--> The PPP daemon has died: pppd options error (exit code = 2)
--> man pppd explains pppd error codes in more detail.
--> I guess that's it for now, exiting
--> The PPP daemon has died. (exit code = 2)

*what could be the solution to it?
