Find out details about your system’s temperature

To find out more about your system’s temperature, install acpi. Then do a simple

acpi -V

to get a listing similar to this one:

shriniva...@shrinivasan-laptop:~$ acpi -V

Battery 0: Discharging, 93%, 02:55:55 remaining
Battery 0: design capacity 4611 mAh, last full capacity 4605 mAh = 99%
Adapter 0: off-line
Thermal 0: ok, 36.0 degrees C

Thermal 0: trip point 1 switches to mode passive at temperature 95.5 degrees C

Cooling 1: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 10
