Dear All, A 2 day workshop on Foss languages is currently under way at VLB Janakiyammal College of technology ,Kovai pudur,Coimbatore. Yesterday I took a session on "Ruby as a programming language" and it was initially planned for 8 hours, found ourselves to have session for 4 hrs. The session was marred by some disturbance caused by fringe religious group which raised some issues out of immersion of Ganesh idol in the lake near utkadam. The college management is supportive , and the students are really interested in learning new subjects. Today, K.Baskar is taking session on Perl and PHP. On behalf of foss community , I thank the department head and the college management for providing us the oppurtunity.
