+1 In my recent adventures with Drupal and Wordpress, I find that there are several small companies which create great themes for Drupal, WordPress and make a lot of money out of it. Eg. WooThemes.com is one of the premier providers for WordPress themes. They have some free themes, but also several paid premium themes -- the premium themes seem to have generated ~ $20-30k per theme, and they have several dozen themes. This is an excellent opportunity and business model for someone with the right design skills.
