Hi Arun

Why not try out Buildroot (http://buildroot.uclibc.org/) for RFS and
kernel? Pretty neat stuff. You can use trimmed down uclibc instead of
Libc.

I am using BR on an AT91sam9263ek from Atmel.  Very much similar  to your Soc.

BTW, What did you mean by firmware?
