Very unlikely, Google wouldn't be paying individuals, although they do pay Mozilla to keep Google as the default search engine: http://techcrunch.com/2008/08/28/mozilla-extends-lucrative-deal-with-google-for-3-years/ OTOH, Ubuntu is paid by Yahoo, to switch the search engine in Firefox. Yahoo had also signed a deal with Bing (from Microsoft) so that move didn't make too many fanboys happy.
