But you need to look and work on existing protocols like VNC RDP etc..
this software is good for learning or foundation something but it is far far
and very far from normal setup which we can do using exiting tool. For
example, sending desktop video to icecast server using normal existing tool
gave me 7 second delay in whole operation that too i am using 100x100
resolution. Video transmission is much more efficient then frame by frame
transmission what exactly he is doing.
If you want to make something better or similar to teamviewer then look if
they have made any open protocols or what is the work done which is better
or something very innovative like sending instructional drawing like SVG
rather then depending on pixel...
SVG is a good role and scope in this..

One last point, I am not dictating that what you discuss on mailing list and
what not, but it will be great if you guys can carry all the
contribution+development type of discussion on
http://groups.google.com/group/oscontrib
mailing list or else we can device a better way or platform where we can
discuss this expect.
Also, this is  a suggestion/recommendation . you are free to live whatever
way you want,
