Increasing transmit power has following disadvantages: 1. shorten the device life to 2-3 months. 2. produce distorted radio signals and reduce signal quality It's best to run the device with it's defaults. Safe way to increase range is to fit an external antenna, here are some neat DIY hacks: 1. cantenna http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantenna 2.
