One way to install BSD on your CF card is to plug it into a usb card reader attached to your PC and install directly onto the CF.
You could get a CF card in chennai at Richie Street where the computer wholesale market is. However you may not get 256mb one. I was looking for 512m and the minimum I could get was 2GB. 2gb card that I have works with my soekris net5501. I am assuming it would work on your 4801 board as well. If you are unsure, and want to try it out before you buy it, you could come to my office and try it out. Contact me off the list if you want to visit.
