From Ubuntu 11.04 onwards, there will be no separate editions for netbook
and desktop; instead, the netbook edition has been folded into "Ubuntu",
according to the Canonical blog [1]

Yes exactly. I doubt if many people will like the changes including
integration of menu bar into the top panel.
