Very often the FDP run by FOSS--Python/SciLab for Scientific and Engineering Computations--is an exercise to add a line to be read in the annual report of College/Department. But we do it nevertheless because at least some students get into FOSS/Python as a result. With a few gratifying exceptions, faculty are usually not really interested much in these as teaching tools. Some faculty members doing research do get interested. I am all for doing these sessions, whatever be their reason for hosting it -- Asokan Pichai *-------------------* We will find a way. Or, make one. (Hannibal) _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
