Imho, "Please read the mailing list guidelines" is an essential learning curve that we recommend all the members should go through. As much as 'Please read the mailing list guidelines' is frustrating for most of the n00b members of this list, constant abuse of the mailing list guidelines by the members is as frustrating to the rest. So please go through the mailing list guidelines, understand them fully before trying to post on the list, so that you can spare everyone the redundant "Please follow the mailing list guidelines" reminders. Even a forum for a user group like ILUGC will have some guidelines to be followed, which the members have to be aware of before posting. So just already read and understand the mailing list guidelines and spare us the effort to remind and yourselves the frustration of getting reminded. This is my Rs.1 to this discussion.
