Thanks for the suggestions and sorry for the delay in my response. I
put the VC on a public IP in the same subnet and did not face any
issue. Then I connected the VC behind our firewall again and I am not
facing any issue. Even the skype works fine now. I have not made any
changes to our firewall so I assume that there was an issue at the
ISP's end or some other AS which the support engineers I was talking
to were not aware of and now that has been fixed. I would be
monitoring the VC which is presently behind the firewall again for the
next two days.
