Dear all,

A two days Free training program on FOSS lab setup and administration was
organised by Anna University, MIT Campus for system admins / lab technical
assistants of engineering colleges.  It was held on 6th and 7th May 2011.
The 2 days session was handled by me.

Around 76 participants from 70 engineering colleges attended this training
program.

The participants were provided with Fedora-14 installation DVD and complete
Fedora-14 packages repository.  All participants were provided with
individual PCs for hands on practice.

The following sessions were handled in the training program.

Introduction to lab exercises based on open source lab syllabus
PXE based remote installation
Package management in Fedora using YUM / YUMEX
Network configuration and IPTables
Samba configuration
CUPS configuration
FUSE (explained about ntfs-3g and sshfs)
Virtualization using Qemu (using FreeDOS)
Kernel compilation / installation
Source code compilation
Few Troubleshooting Techniques

Ms.Catherine Bina, Head of the MIT Computing Centre was the main force
