> > >>> > >>>This 90 crore might be well spend on starving kids and kids who require > >>medical care > > God forbid, What would have happened if our parents had invested all > their > money for OUR future health care instead of education and deprived us of > our > IIT or BITS pilani or BE education !! citing our health reasons ! > > Well for one, my parents were not as poor as the government and they could invest on my health and my future education. Also if I had a sibling who had a major health issue and my parents required the money they had to treat the other child, I would have not got my great education and I would have accepted it with all humility.
Can I say that health care is more important than education ? NO > Well I differ! Health care IS more important than education! I feel more sorry for a dying child than ever care about a child getting education > > In reality sometimes people starve themselves to get educated. Why ? > Education is not about laptops. Did Dr.Abdul Kalam have a laptop when he was kid? > > Empowering the masses by giving them access to information (translates to > free laptop and internet) directly helps in alleviating the poor and > downtrodden. > Yes I agree on the point of empowering with information. But at what cost? Kids I know hardly ever use their computers for getting empowered. They typically use it play games, enjoy social networking, stream videos and as a huge juke box of songs and videos. I don't want my tax money to be used for this. > I would like to mention the remarks of my neighbour the other day. > > "Our children also will have laptops "their" children also will have > laptops > how can we allow this ??" > > I rest my case > How is this relevant to my post or any? Anyways, see, this also adds to my case. We as a society is this immature, dumb and class conscious. Let's remove all of these and spend money on these.
