Thats surprising but I am not sure if I have to agree . I got kindle
for my dad who really wants tablet features and was expecting a touch
device because he owns a touch screen phone . I am guessing that he
uses it only if he has some reference books and uses the home wifi to
check out wikipedia page . The best thing he liked in Kindle is the
internal dictionary where you highlight a word and get the meaning .
Also a TTS was welcome but not so usable thanks to the voice .

OTOH I have a netbook and I do read lot of books on it and am kind of
happy with it . Netbooks are damn cheap and we get to do almost
everything we want on it other than huge graphical tasks . A netbook
with good battery life and the least possible weight is a good
competitor .
