While that _should_ be a sound choice, I would advise you to go with
Centos 5 as of now till Centos 6.1 arrives.

Please note that RHEL 6.0 to RHEL 6.1 release time was probaby a
record in terms of release as *lot* of security and bug updates
between them.

ergo Centos which is yet to come out with 6.1.

But that is the best one around if you consider the Base on which you
are going to deploy your application. You have support of Centos till
RHEL supports it -- 7 years. I remember reading somewhere Redhat is
considering it to extend it to 10 years.

Putting on the hat of software project manager, using RHEL/centos as
your base is a no-brainer.

Don't touch (even think about) Fedora, Ubnutu etc. as a server
platform for new production apps.
