Do we have any resource in gimp for training in banglore? ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "VIGNESH PRABHU" <[email protected]> Date: 5 Oct 2011 13:18 Subject: [ilugb] Looking for experts to help migrate photography studios to GIMP To: "Free Software Users Group - Bangalore" <[email protected]>, <[email protected]>, "Ubuntu India Local Community" < [email protected]>
Hi friends, Many of you must have heard about the recent raids by software firms on photography studios in Mandya and Mysore districts. Here is a news article on the same, http://www.deccanherald.com/content/190270/beware-using-softwares-licence.html. FSMK, Free Software Movement Karnataka has recently released a press note appealing to small scale vendors to try out FOSS alternatives, http://www.fsmk.org/node/86 Photography studios associations have contacted us and requested us to train them on FOSS alternatives. Hence we are looking for GIMP experts who have worked extensively on photo editing to talk to few representatives of these associations and understand their requirements. If their requirements are fulfilled by GIMP, then we can plan for a large scale workshop and help them migrate. So please contact us if you can help us in understanding their requirements and migrating them. If this is not done immediately, then they will be forced to come to some agreement with software firms and have to shell out chunk of their profit to pay for the license fees. -- Regards, Vignesh Software Engineer http://2paisasbyviggy.wordpress.com/ http://fsmk.org <http://2paisasbyviggy.wordpress.com/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ILUG Bengaluru" group.
