       I am not very sure if I get your question right. But which
version of Solaris are you running ? Is it the OpenSolaris(Open
Indiana) or the commercial edition from Sun/Oracle ? If it is Open
Indiana, it is as good as any GNU/Linux distro. You get gcc/g++, and
openssh. You can do pkg install <pkg_name> to install any package.
They also have a synaptic like UI to install software. But, we can
help only if you explain what eactly you are doing. When you say sftp
using C++, do you mean to say you are implementing the SFTP protocol ?
sftp client and server? Please explain. Thanks
