They are stuck with M$ Widows because they don't want to look at options, because they don't want to change anything around them. Linux won't do anything to such 'idiot' users. Yes, I am deliberately using the world idiot because I help people migrate and once in a while I come across such people who actually don't even need windows -- all they need is a browser to Faceboook. But, they don't want Linux. If you give them Linux they will complain about something else. They will want WMP, IE, and then be able to install .exe viruses. Linux users are like organic food buyers, clean water drinkers -- they make a conscious decision to use Linux because of its technical, social and political merits. I wonder why we need non-free Microsoft products at all given their stand on competition and openness. Fortunately, we have projects like LibreOffice. We must boost LibreOffice and help polish it further instead of wasting time in discussing Microsoft's crapware. Buying M$ Widows copy for Linux is like feeding a shark only to come back and attack us. Thomas Penfield Jackson, the presiding judge in U.S. v. Microsoft, said: "Most harmful of all is the message that Microsoft's actions have conveyed to every enterprise with the potential to innovate in the computer industry. Through its conduct toward Netscape, IBM, Compaq, Intel, and others, Microsoft has demonstrated that it will use its prodigious market power and immense profits to harm any firm that insists on pursuing initiatives that could intensify competition against one of Microsoft's core products. Microsoft's past success in hurting such companies and stifling innovation deters investment in technologies and businesses that exhibit the potential to threaten Microsoft. The ultimate result is that some innovations that would truly benefit consumers never occur for the sole reason that they do not coincide with Microsoft's self-interest."
