I believe all the main rooms are being video'd again this year ( more than were last year ) and should be on the Fosdem website a few days later. I've been there every year for about 8 years not, except for the one year when they decided it would be funny to change the date so as to have it ON the day i was getting married!.... anyway, the big thing about Fosdem is that commercial vendors, other than the few sponsors, are left out and there are massive opportunities to network face to face and talk to people about ideas and where open source as a while is going. The flip side is that this also means that very few companies will sponsor people over. The ones that do are the ones who are themselves active in the open source arena ( and apart from the big linux distros ) are people who dont represent the IT industry itself! nutshell : if you can, get there, it might not further your job prospects any, but it would sure be a fantastic learning experience - and dont worry, too much, about the talks, focus on the social events thats where the real open source conversations take place. -- Karanbir Singh +44-207-0999389 | http://www.karan.org/ | twitter.com/kbsingh ICQ: 2522219 | Yahoo IM: z00dax | Gtalk: z00dax GnuPG Key : http://www.karan.org/publickey.asc _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
