Hi,
Can someone please explain how mailLocalAddress and
mailRoutingAddress will be used ? These are both from the
inetLocalMailRecipient objectClass defined in the misc schema. My
understanding is that mailLocalAddress can be have syntactically
correct email address, but mailRoutingAddress will be the actual email
address at the MTA. But I am not very sure if I am right there. For
eg. an entry can be like
mailLocalAddress: [email protected]
mailLocalAddress: [email protected]
mailRoutingAddress: [email protected]
Those entries are what I meant by "any syntactically correct email
address" for mailLocalAddress.
So, if an LDAP entry has both mailLocalAddress and
mailRoutingAddress, and if the MTA has to deliver mails based on LDAP
look up, which of the 2 addresses should be used by the MTA ? Please
note that both those attribuites are optional in the schema. Thanks
