I had done this before (Fedora 10, 11, 12). I did not try with new versions but there is no need for internet connection during installation. I think there is some other problem that is hindering the installation. It may be telling something similar to "no internet found it is recommended to have internet connection for getting latest update" - there may be a yes, no icon where you choose yes to stop the installation (sometimes choosing yes may be a negative response). If that is the case try choosing other option. I have seen such things in Linux so do read things carefully.
