Well Mr. Kumaran, Nice Review I am a Teaching Computer Science for the past 15 years for the Hr. Sec. Students.
Kindly consider the following # The custom distro should "attract" the students # Unless there is a "syllabus" and "exam" in the school curriculum , students will not learn from LINUX # 95% of the students are only "computer users" not "learner" # You can not eradicate MS from student's domain More to come... Free Laptop Review Hi ILUGC! IMHO, I think it would have been better for ELCOT to have skipped Windows and instead put that money into a WiFi chipset. The educational apps on BOSS Linux seem much lesser than the ones in Windows. I think that GNOME 2.3 could have looked a lot better. Or, they should have used Ubuntu LTS/ Linux Mint. Anyway, now that it is being rolled out, I guess it would be good for us if we start online spoken tutorials on how to use BOSS instead of Windows. I am planning on making a custom distro based on Edubuntu LTS (12.04) or something similar, for installation on this laptop. Any ideas? What about a 1-day class for this, wherever it gets distributed?
