Then you are using the smart host feature in which DHCP is not a problem. It will work. You are a full fledged mail server only when you directly talk to the mail server in question which is obtained by the @ part of the mail ID, after a DNS lookup of MX pointer followed by A pointer. > How do I subvert this. My US partner is 63 years old. He still works, learns and does everything except coding. Okay now, you don't have any problem; you are just front ending for gmail. You do not need a static IP.
