Dropping packets will cause sender/receiver to retransmit and increase traffic on loaded links and decrease performance even further. TCP window scaling is the best method of shaping bandwidth as it has no retransmission and is universally accepted. This is a key differentiator of bandwidth shaping appliances vs buffering/queueing done in routers. - Raja _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
