However cite the articles and tell us what parts you do not understand. At this point your request for help is a broad sweep. > *I am not a programmer and have a phobia towards the terminals (text based > interface). * You don't have to be a programmer to use the command line. Overcome your phobia and ye shall find nirvana @ the CLI end of the tunnel. No pain No Gain. Suggest you keep a copy of the O'Reilly "Linux in a Nutshell" handy. It has organized the tools in sections per their functionality. > *Till date, I have installed applications using GUI (Ubuntu Software > Centre) Only* This is fine and OK for the end user. You are trying to move to the next level, especially in the case of the Scribus with Unicode support. 1. Open a terminal and play around (except for cd /; rm -fr *) 2. Learn to use man <tool>. When the information is available in the man pages right in your own computer why get it second hand? 3. experiment and read the warnings/errors carefully. For sysadmin activity read the log files. The applications will give you enough information as to what is wrong. -- Arun Khan "As a layman, I would say we have it, but as a scientist I have to say, 'What do we have?'"
