It would have been nice if you had mentioned so in your OP [1].
Members can then suggest alternate solutions to resolve your specific
problem.

If you have access to Virtual Box or Linux KVM, you can install a
"legacy" version of any distro with KDE 3.5 in the Guest OS and try it
out.

For such things I am a command line guy.    Over the years, on a few
occasions, the GUI wrapper (because of bugs) has failed wherein the
CLI worked fine.

Any particular reason for not wanting to use the CLI tools?
