I could also contribute by downloading part of the repository if there is some way to do that. Some one can write an application / shell script to do a distributed download (based on the number of volunteers, their download capability and their connection speed). Once all the files are fetched the volunteers could meet and sync with each other. Then they can distribute to anyone who needs. Main task will be writing such an application. Technical issues (like repository getting updated in between etc) must be discussed and solved for that.
