There are PCIe ethernet cards too. And most motherboards have 2-3 of them.

You can go with a router on a stick type config where you buy some cheap
dd-wrt compatible Wifi-Router with a switch that supports vlans. This works
out great for low volume networks since most cheap routers only come with a
100Mbps ports.(Cost under INR2k)

High-end wifi routers(INR6-8k) these days come with a gigabit switch. 

Or you can buy dedicated hardware for your firewall/gateway from some company
like MikroTik http://routerboard.com/ (USD 60 upwards.)

If you really need to use a PC for your gateway, you can get a quad-port
gigabit card for around INR 12k.
