As a student you don't have enough rights to question them. Staff's
who feel comfortable with Proprietary software were never against Free
software. The only thing required is to educate, train and support
them.

If you wish, I can speak to them and can even make them to understand
the importance of Free software, if you provide the details of your
college and staff to me privately.

In India, colleges are controlled by Universities and our Universities
are acting as agents of Proprietary software companies to promote
their products. Colleges who knows this very well are keeping silent,
as they say, they can't do anything against University as they are
affiliated. So we can't blame colleges in this matter.

So far I have initiated the FOSS migration process in more than 200+
engineering colleges in Tamilnadu and got good results / feedback and
I personally feel that, the best way to bring the change is to
directly approach colleges instead of going with University.

If you don't wish to see this happening anymore, you should not bare,
instead you have fight against this.
