Hi, Just figured out that the skype package is available in the partner repository
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu raring partner deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu raring partner Once the lines in /etc/apt/sources.list are uncommented and apt-get update; apt-get upgrade followed by a apt-get install skype should get it installed for you.
