It is very ubiquitous and obvious but we find it very hard to digest. The web is not only the best marketing and awareness creation platform known to man but also the biggest market in terms of money and reach.
And Google is king when it comes to online selling. Or even to reach a larger audience for a non commercial purpose. People get to know us through search, word of mouth referrals and other means. In general the Internet has completely turned upside down all traditional means of selling, convincing customers, marketing, commercial transactions. To harness the energy latent in the web we ought to get some facts right. We must get our act right and apply ourselves to get mileage out of the infinite power of the web. To get a share of the traffic, of the commerce, of the attention and of the traction we find in the web we need to not only focus on popularity and traffic but also in claiming the right thing and delivering value that is sought after and unique. In that respect the world has become truly virtual today with the web flattening all distances and if you are selling software your location really does not count as long as you are found by search engines. The web is evolving and so if your website and so is your marketing collateral be they videos, content or podcasts.
